“Jake” is a classic looking two year old very dark (semi-sweet) chocolate male, weighing about 80 lbs. He is a stocky field bred Lab with a block head. His sire is SHR Southland Sarge of Larke, JH, who was sired by my beloved GMHR Southland Leroy Brown, who was sired by the 1984 National Derby Champion, FA, AFC, MHR Westwind’s Bold Tiger. His blood lines are very strong. Jake is a house pet who loves to play frisbee, fetch and hide and seek. He loves to retrieve and brings his dish when he is hungry. Jake is owned by Polly and Brad Shaffer of Leesburg, VA.

"Briar"
“Briar” was sold as a pup and I was fortunate to have the chance to purchase her back from her original owners 4 years later. She is a large, 80 lb. rich chocolate female out of my beloved Leroy. She passed all of her health clearances with flying colors and this will be her second litter. I just retired her dam, Lea, who had proven to be a true asset to Southland’s breeding program. This is a line breeding on my “Leroy”and thus, also “Tiger”, two awesome dogs. I plan on keeping a male out of this litter to hopefully one day stand at stud at Southland and carry on Leroy’s heritage.

Briar has a wonderful, easy going temperament and coupled with Jake, I expect them to produce a very nice litter that will make excellent Family and/or Hunting companions. I would expect the pups to be on the large size with a strong retrieving desire. The litter will be ready to go the weekend of January 16th and the price is $1300.
